About the Role
As a Product Owner – Consulting, you will make an impact by driving end-to-end product ownership across complex airline and GDS platforms, ensuring alignment between business vision and execution.
You will be a valued member of the consulting team, collaborating closely with Product Leadership, delivery teams, architects, designers, and client stakeholders to deliver scalable, customer-centric solutions.
In This Role, You Will
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business priorities, customer feedback, and strategic objectives
- Translate business requirements into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria for development teams
- Prioritize features, enhancements, and defect resolution to maximize value delivery across Agile sprints
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Product Managers, Architects, Developers, QA) to refine and deliver high-quality features
- Lead and actively participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Monitor product performance, track progress against roadmap goals, and provide clear updates to stakeholders and sponsors
- Drive stakeholder engagement, communication, and change management to ensure successful product adoption
- Contribute to product vision and strategy through data-driven insights and continuous feedback loops
- Champion Agile best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the squad
Work Model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3–4 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Atlanta, GA.
What You Need to Have to Be Considered
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Strong expertise in backlog management, user story definition, and sprint prioritization
- Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to bridge business and technical requirements effectively
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
- Hands-on experience with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven mindset
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
Nice to Have / Preferred Qualifications
- Domain expertise in Airline / Travel / GDS systems, including reservations, inventory, ticketing, pricing, or NDC
- Experience working on large-scale digital or transformation programs in the aviation industry
- Exposure to product strategy, roadmap planning, and KPI definition
- Certification in Scrum (CSPO, SAFe PO/PM, or equivalent)
