Job Summary
The Data Center Onsite Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stable and efficient operation of critical data center infrastructure, including power systems, cooling systems, rack infrastructure, access control systems, and identity and access management integrations. The role also involves managing monitoring and automation tools, event and alert management systems, and providing smart hands onsite support services.
The ideal candidate will have 4–7 years of relevant experience, strong technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to maintain high availability, reliability, and performance of data center operations.

Responsibilities
Manage physical data center infrastructure including power cooling and rack systems
Monitor environmental and operational conditions continuously
Implement automation for monitoring and alerting
Detect and escalate operational incidents and events
Enforce access control aligned with identity and security policies
Maintain system administration procedures and compliance standards.
Provide onsite support including rack installation cabling and hardware handling
Perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and operational continuity

The annual salary for this position is between $37,804 $73,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
