Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Engineer (Cyber, Data & Security) with 6–8 years of experience to join our Cloud, Network and Infrastructure Security team.
In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of endpoint security processes, ensuring effective deployment and performance of CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, and Qualys agents across enterprise environments. This position plays a critical role in strengthening security posture through scalable, automated, and auditable processes.
Key Responsibilities
Security Agent Process Engineering
- Design, document, and implement processes to ensure completeness and accuracy of endpoint security agent deployments
- Establish monitoring and validation mechanisms to verify agent health, connectivity, and compliance
- Perform gap analysis to identify and remediate coverage issues across servers and endpoints
Endpoint Security Management
- Administer and optimize the CrowdStrike Falcon platform for endpoint detection and response
- Manage Microsoft Defender for Endpoint integration and policy enforcement
- Oversee Qualys agent deployment and vulnerability management operations
Operational Excellence
- Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) for deployment, monitoring, and reporting
- Provide Tier-3 support for endpoint security agent issues and escalations
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, procedures, and configurations
Required Qualifications
- 6–8 years of experience in cybersecurity, endpoint security, or infrastructure security
- Strong hands-on experience with CrowdStrike Falcon platform administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint deployment and management
- Experience with Qualys agent deployment and vulnerability management
- Scripting experience using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages
- Strong understanding of endpoint security principles and best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large-scale enterprise environments
- Exposure to cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CrowdStrike certifications, or Microsoft security certifications
- Experience in DevSecOps or automation-driven security environments
Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between CAD $105,000 – $115,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
This role is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance.
