The Senior/Lead Salesforce Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible for driving strategic business solutions on the Salesforce platform. This role partners with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, admins, and development teams to design scalable processes, gather and translate requirements, and ensure successful delivery of Salesforce enhancements and projects. The Senior/Lead BSA also provides thought leadership, oversees requirement quality, and mentors junior analysts.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements

Engage with business stakeholders to understand goals, processes, and challenges.

Lead and facilitate requirement-gathering workshops, discovery sessions, and design discussions.

Document and translate complex business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications.

Perform gap analysis, impact analysis, and system assessments for new features or changes.

Ensure requirements align with Salesforce best practices and enterprise architecture.

Solution Design & Delivery

Collaborate with Salesforce architects and developers to design scalable, secure, and optimized solutions.

Validate that technical designs and configurations meet business requirements.

Create and maintain process maps, data models, and system documentation.

Support configuration tasks such as flows, validations, page layouts (if hands-on allowed).

Lead UAT planning, test cases, test execution, and defect management.

Stakeholder & Project Leadership

Serve as the primary liaison between business teams and technical teams.

Communicate progress, risks, and issues to leadership and project managers.

Provide functional leadership on cross-cloud Salesforce initiatives (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, CPQ, Marketing Cloud, etc. depending on the org).

Influence prioritization and roadmap planning through data-driven insights.

Mentor junior BSAs and provide quality control for requirements and documentation.

Data, Reporting & Governance

Analyze data models, integrations, and downstream system impacts.

Ensure data integrity and compliance with security & governance standards.

Support reporting requirements, dashboards, and KPI definitions.

Contribute to governance processes for change management and release management.

Qualifications Required

Salesforce Integration experience.

5–8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role.

4+ years hands-on experience working with Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or other clouds).

Strong understanding of Salesforce data model, security model (profiles, roles, permission sets), automation tools, and integration patterns.

Proven experience writing clear user stories, process flows (using Lucidchart, Visio), and functional specs.

Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Ability to lead workshops, translate business needs, and manage conflicting priorities.

Excellent communication, analysis, and documentation skills.

Preferred

Salesforce certifications (Admin, Advanced Admin, Business Analyst, Platform App Builder, etc.).

Experience with CPQ, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, MuleSoft, or other enterprise platforms.

Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Aha!, or similar tools.

Ability to run SQL/SOQL queries for analysis or troubleshooting.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 80,000– $ 115,000 CAD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
