Test Analyst role in a hybrid model focusing on high quality delivery for financial and accounting systems using structured test design and defect tracking tools. The role involves planning executing and documenting tests across mainframe and distributed platforms while collaborating with cross functional teams to enhance product reliability and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
• Execute test scenarios for web and mobile applications using test management tools to ensure that business rules and regulatory requirements are validated accurately and consistently across all versions.
• Design detailed test cases and test data based on functional and technical specifications, improving test coverage and reducing production incidents.
• Use test management tools to log, track, and retest defects, maintaining clear descriptions and evidence so that development and business teams can quickly understand the issues and agree on resolution priorities.
• Review job flows and dependencies to identify potential test risks, verify preconditions and postconditions, and support the smooth execution of end-to-end test cycles in financial systems.
• Analyze test results and transaction data to detect anomalies.
• Collaborate with functional analysts, developers, and operations teams in a hybrid work model to clarify requirements, refine test conditions, and ensure that delivered functionalities meet agreed-upon acceptance criteria.
• Prepare clear status reports on test evidence and simple metrics that communicate progress, defect trends, and areas of risk, so that project teams can make informed decisions about releases.
• Support regression testing by maintaining reusable test cases and datasets from test management tools, ensuring that critical flows remain stable across multiple versions and environments.
• Adhere to day shift schedules and hybrid work practices, coordinating effectively with on-site and remote colleagues, and managing time and tasks to meet agreed-upon deadlines.
• Participate in peer reviews of test cases and test results, sharing constructive feedback and adopting best practices that improve overall quality across the testing team.
Qualifications
• Combine academic knowledge in information technology or a related field with a strong interest in quality assurance to understand system behavior and testing objectives within a financial context.
• Utilize basic experience with test management tools to organize test cycles, manage test execution status, and store evidence in a structured manner to meet audit and compliance requirements.
• Apply practical skills with test management tools to collaborate on defect resolution and maintain transparent communication with development and business teams regarding the status and impact of defects.
• Demonstrate practical familiarity with management systems (SAP preferred) to perform end-to-end testing on systems with minimal supervision.
• Leverage process expertise to interpret requirements, create test scenarios, and better understand the implications of defects on financial reporting.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn new testing techniques, automation approaches, and domain concepts, adapting quickly to evolving project needs while maintaining a strong focus on quality outcomes.
