Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead/Senior Java Backend & Full-Stack Engineer with 8 to 10+ years of hands-on experience to drive the architecture, development, and delivery of enterprise software solutions. In this role, you will lead backend engineering efforts using Core Java and Spring Frameworks while actively driving UI application architecture, design structures, and frontend development workflows. This role demands domain expertise in retail order management and a strong background in building resilient, distributed server applications in Unix environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Full-Stack Development: Architect, design, and build high-performance backend microservices alongside scalable UI application structures (modules, components, routing, and integration).
- Team Leadership & Governance: Manage UI/UX application development, guide engineering teams, and continuously review and improve overall UI design and development processes.
- Design Collaboration: Work closely with UX / VD associates to create optimal screen designs and develop proof-of-concept prototypes for advanced features.
- Distributed Systems Engineering: Design and build secure, distributed backend components and RESTful APIs capable of handling high-volume transaction loads.
- DevOps & Code Management: Establish code maintenance strategies (repository structures, branching, merging, and quality checks) alongside robust deployment and build strategies.
- Performance Optimization: Drive application performance tuning and optimization across both backend services and frontend architectures.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Core Experience: 8 to 10+ years of solid, hands-on experience in Java Backend/Full-Stack engineering.
- Java Ecosystem Mastery: Deep knowledge of Core Java (Java 8+ is a must) including multi-threading, concurrency, and Java server applications in Unix environments.
- Frameworks & Web Technologies: Strong experience in SpringBoot, Spring Frameworks, JUnit, and J2EE standards (EJBs, servlets, JSP, Struts, Application Servers, Portal Applications, and XML technologies).
- Messaging & Data Sourcing: Proven hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, REST APIs, and a mix of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Build Tools & Environments: Robust experience handling build and repository management tools such as Maven, Nexus, and Gradle.
- OS Fundamentals: Strong background in Unix environments, including foundational Shell Scripting capabilities.
Nice to Have (Preferred Skills)
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB or alternative NoSQL databases.
- Working knowledge or cloud deployment experience with AWS.
- Experience with performance profiling and testing tools highly desired (e.g., jProbe, jMeter, YourKit).
