Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Teradata Architect with strong Snowflake expertise to lead and drive a large-scale data warehouse transformation within the banking sector. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding the migration from legacy Teradata environments to a modern Snowflake-based cloud data platform, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and scalable transition.
The role requires a combination of deep technical expertise, architectural thinking, and hands-on involvement, along with the ability to collaborate across engineering, architecture, and business teams.
Location: Stockholm
Key Responsibilities
You will take ownership of understanding the current Teradata data warehouse landscape and play a central role in driving its migration to Snowflake. This includes reviewing and validating the end-to-end migration strategy and identifying areas for improvement or optimization.
You will support the design and evolution of the target Snowflake architecture, including storage, compute, and security layers, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements. A key part of the role is working closely with engineering teams to convert Teradata SQL, stored procedures, and macros into Snowflake-compatible solutions, while refactoring scripts for improved performance and scalability.
You will collaborate with data engineers, cloud architects, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment across the transformation initiative. In addition, you will provide technical leadership and mentorship, helping to guide teams through the migration and build best-practice capabilities.
The role also includes working with existing security and access control frameworks, translating current role-based access models into the Snowflake environment, and ensuring alignment with enterprise data governance and compliance standards.
Core Requirements
You bring strong experience in Teradata architecture and data warehousing, combined with advanced proficiency in SQL across both Teradata and Snowflake environments. You have hands-on experience working with Snowflake and a solid understanding of how to migrate, transform, and optimize data warehouse solutions in a cloud context.
You have experience leading or playing a key role in at least one full-scale data warehouse migration and are comfortable working in complex transformation environments where both legacy and modern platforms coexist.
Desirable Skills
Experience working with ETL tools is valuable, with familiarity in platforms such as IDMC considered an advantage. You bring a collaborative mindset and are used to working in cross-functional teams, contributing not only to technical delivery but also to overall solution design and continuous improvement.
