Job Summary

Contribute as a Developer specializing in SAP production planning with focus on demand management long term planning and variant configuration within a hybrid work model. Collaborate with planners and business stakeholders to design configure and enhance SAP solutions that improve forecast accuracy optimize capacity usage and speed product configuration across global operations while ensuring stable day shift support.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with planning and supply chain teams to gather detailed requirements for SAP demand management scenarios and translate them into robust configuration that strengthens forecast driven planning across plants and distribution centers.
  • Configure SAP demand management processes including planned independent requirements creation consumption strategies and planning time fences so that material availability aligns closely with realistic sales expectations and production capabilities.
  • Design and maintain long term planning models in SAP that simulate future capacity material and resource needs enabling decision makers to evaluate multiple demand and supply options before committing to operational plans.
  • Build and optimize variant configuration models including characteristics classes and dependencies so that configurable products can be quoted produced and delivered accurately with minimal manual intervention and rework.
  • Analyze existing PP processes and technical setups to identify inefficiencies or data quality gaps and implement targeted improvements that reduce planning cycle time stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Develop functional specifications for ABAP enhancements user exits and reports related to demand management long term planning and variant configuration ensuring that each development supports clear business outcomes.
  • Perform unit testing integration testing and user acceptance support for new SAP PP solutions documenting test evidence and resolving defects to secure reliable and predictable system behavior in day shift operations.
  • Provide day to day application support for SAP PP demand management long term planning and variant configuration incidents analyzing root causes and implementing sustainable fixes that prevent recurrence and minimize planning disruptions.
  • Coordinate with cross functional teams such as SD MM and FI to ensure that demand signals master data and configuration settings remain consistent across modules which supports end to end process integrity.
  • Prepare clear user guides and process documentation that explain planning scenarios variant configuration usage and key transactions helping business users adopt system capabilities with confidence and autonomy.
  • Advise stakeholders on best practices for forecast consumption planning strategies and configurable product setup so that strategic planning objectives align with system design and data governance standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as forecast accuracy capacity utilization and planning adherence and propose configuration or process changes that steadily improve the organization planning maturity.
  • Support periodic system upgrades and enhancement projects by validating PP related changes adapting configurations where required and ensuring a smooth transition without disrupting regular production planning activities.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrate hands on experience of at least three years in SAP production planning demand management including configuration of planning strategies consumption modes and planning calendars within a manufacturing environment.
  • Show proven practical exposure to long term planning in SAP by designing planning scenarios running simulations and interpreting planning results to guide capacity and material decisions for business partners.
  • Exhibit strong skills in SAP variant configuration by building and maintaining dependency logic characteristics and configuration profiles that manage product complexity while keeping maintenance effort reasonable.
  • Apply working knowledge of integration between SAP PP and modules such as SD and MM so that demand sales orders material availability and production plans stay synchronized from order entry to execution.
  • Use analytical and problem solving abilities to resolve planning and configuration issues quickly by interpreting logs tracing configuration impacts and collaborating with technical colleagues where needed.
  • Communicate clearly with nontechnical stakeholders in workshops defect reviews and training sessions by explaining planning concepts and system behavior in accessible business language.
  • Adapt effectively to hybrid work arrangements by managing time documentation and remote collaboration tools so that project outcomes and production planning support remain reliable and timely.
