About the role
We are seeking a Senior SAP Commerce Cloud Developer responsible for designing and delivering robust, scalable solutions on SAP Commerce Cloud platforms. This role focuses on enabling reliable core commerce capabilities, enhancing customer buying journeys, and supporting enterprise-grade digital commerce solutions that drive business growth and operational efficiency.
In this role you will
- Design and implement high-quality features on SAP Commerce Cloud to enhance customer experience and support complex commerce workflows
- Configure and optimize SAP Commerce Search to deliver fast, accurate, and relevant search and navigation experiences
- Customize SAP Commerce components to support pricing, promotions, personalization, and order management
- Build and maintain scalable integrations between SAP Commerce Cloud and enterprise systems using secure and reliable integration patterns
- Analyze existing implementations to identify performance issues and implement tuning strategies to improve stability and response times
- Create detailed technical designs and documentation for SAP Commerce solutions
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and business analysts to translate requirements into technical designs
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Troubleshoot complex production issues using logs, monitoring tools, and structured problem-solving approaches
- Implement secure coding practices and ensure compliance with enterprise security and privacy standards
- Support deployment activities including release planning, validation, and post-deployment checks
- Contribute to continuous improvement by enhancing development processes, tools, and automation
- Mentor junior developers and support team capability development
- Ensure solutions align with sustainability goals by promoting efficient digital commerce practices
Work Model: Hybrid –Winston, Salem
What you need to have to be considered
- 8–12 years of experience in SAP Commerce Platform / SAP Commerce Cloud development
- Strong expertise in SAP Commerce Search configuration, indexing strategies, and search relevance tuning
- Hands-on experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (CCv2) including extensions, customization, and cloud-native development practices
- Strong programming skills in Java and related frameworks with solid object-oriented design principles
- Experience in core commerce domains including product catalog, pricing, promotions, checkout, and order management
- Proven experience building integrations and working with enterprise systems
- Experience working in hybrid environments and agile delivery models
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
These will help you stand out
- SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP Commerce Cloud Developer (or equivalent)
- Experience with modern development toolchains and CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to performance optimization and scalability strategies in eCommerce platforms
- Ability to work effectively with distributed global teams

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $83,250–$112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
