Job Summary

Serve as a senior test analyst in a hybrid work model designing and executing complex validation strategies for advanced distribution management outage management and SCADA systems in the power engineering domain. Collaborate with application and network administrators to assure reliability safety and performance of GE ADMS platforms. Apply structured testing methods and selective use of generative AI tooling to improve test coverage reduce defects and support resilient energy distribution

Responsibilities

  • Design comprehensive end to end test strategies for ADMS SCADA and OMS solutions that validate functional accuracy performance reliability and security across power distribution workflows while aligning with project objectives and regulatory expectations.
  • Develop detailed reusable and data rich test cases and scenarios for GE ADMS modules and related grid applications that trace directly to requirements and user stories enabling transparent coverage and efficient maintenance.
  • Execute manual and automated test suites for ADMS application engineer and admin components ensuring robust validation of configuration changes integrations network updates and operational procedures in a controlled environment.
  • Coordinate closely with ADMS network administrators to verify connectivity failover behavior latency thresholds and network security constraints through systematic integration and system testing cycles.
  • Analyze complex defects and anomalies observed in SCADA OMS and DMS behavior by correlating logs events telemetry and configuration data to pinpoint root causes and provide actionable remediation guidance.
  • Apply generative AI tools in a responsible and explainable manner to generate test data suggest edge case scenarios and summarize defect patterns thereby accelerating test design and reporting while preserving quality standards.
  • Collaborate with product owners business analysts and power engineering experts to refine acceptance criteria clarify grid operation use cases and ensure that test outcomes reflect real world operational conditions.
  • Prepare clear test reports dashboards and risk assessments that summarize coverage defect trends and release readiness providing traceable evidence to support go or no go decisions for production deployments.
  • Support non production and production like environment validation by coordinating with ADMS application admins to manage test data baselines configuration versions and cutover simulation activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing existing test assets identifying gaps in regression suites and proposing pragmatic automation or optimization opportunities that reduce cycle time without sacrificing quality.
  • Mentor junior test analysts on domain concepts such as feeder topology switching operations outage restoration and grid reliability so that the broader team gains confidence working with ADMS and SCADA platforms.
  • Engage with cross functional teams to assess the impact of software upgrades patches and new grid functionalities on downstream systems and to define regression scopes that protect mission critical operations.
  • Document clear reproducible defect tickets with technical evidence and suggested hypotheses so engineering and operations teams can quickly validate fixes and prevent recurrence in future releases.

Qualifications

  • Showcase proven experience of six to ten years in software testing within power engineering or utility systems delivering high quality validation for ADMS SCADA DMS or OMS platforms in complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrate strong hands on exposure to GE ADMS configuration workflows scenario simulation tools and operational screens with the ability to translate grid procedures into precise test cases.
  • Exhibit practical understanding of ADMS application admin and network admin responsibilities including user management configuration control environment segregation and network health validation from a testing perspective.
  • Apply solid skills in functional regression integration and system testing along with familiarity in using defect management and test management tools to maintain traceable and auditable test evidence.
  • Use working knowledge of generative AI concepts and tools to enhance test efficiency through intelligent test data creation scenario exploration and structured summarization of large volumes of logs or results.
  • Bring awareness of SCADA protocols grid telemetry concepts and real time data behavior so that test design reflects realistic operational timing thresholds and failure modes.
  • Utilize any exposure to structural biology and modelling as a demonstration of strong analytical thinking and complex system reasoning which can be leveraged to understand intricate ADMS models and algorithms.
  • Communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders through concise documentation and structured discussions ensuring that risks dependencies and test outcomes are understood by both technical and business audiences.
