We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with expertise in mainframe technologies to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical applications that run on mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with mainframe environments, including COBOL, JCL, and CICS, and possess a strong understanding of legacy systems integration and modernization strategies.
In this role, you will:
Develop understanding of client products and services through structured information-gathering sessions to determine system configuration requirements.
Perform detailed data analysis, product mapping, and client interviews to gather data files, forms, and reporting requirements.
Create comprehensive data maps and transaction workflow documentation to define field-level conversion logic and transformation rules.
Collaborate with development teams to support conversion specifications, validation cycles, and required system customization.
Execute conversion testing by validating configured or customized solutions against client-specific requirements, including data processing and reporting outputs.
Review conversion outputs including reports, data balancing, and reconciliation results; obtain client validation and sign-off.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client office in Atlanta, GA. Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $46,992 to $ 75,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
