Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our technology team and play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting scalable enterprise applications and integrations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Core Java, SQL technologies, cloud platforms, and system integrations, with a passion for building high-quality software solutions that drive business value. This role requires a hands-on developer who can collaborate across teams, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of both applications and integrations.
About the Role
As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining critical business applications while supporting integrations across multiple systems and platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver new features, optimize existing solutions, and automate testing and validation processes to ensure seamless system performance.
This role offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies including Java, PL/SQL, MySQL, AWS/Azure, Splunk, and Wireshark, while contributing to the full software development lifecycle—from design and development through testing, deployment, and ongoing support. Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to delivering reliable and scalable solutions in a collaborative environment.

In This Role You Will
· Develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software applications using Core Java, PL/SQL, and MySQL.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, validate, and deliver new features and enhancements.
· Manage, maintain, and support integrations across customer-facing and enterprise applications.
· Automate testing and validation processes to improve application quality and integration reliability.
· Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to software development best practices and coding standards.
· Monitor application and integration performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure system stability.
· Utilize tools such as Splunk and Wireshark to troubleshoot application, network, and integration-related issues.
· Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and technical documentation to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience with Core Java development and object-oriented programming principles.
Proficiency in PL/SQL and MySQL, including database development, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
Knowledge of Splunk for application monitoring, log analysis, and troubleshooting.
Experience using Wireshark or similar network analysis tools to investigate and resolve connectivity and integration issues.
Hands-on experience with integration testing, validation, and troubleshooting in distributed application environments.
Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), coding standards, and testing methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate successfully within cross-functional teams.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until July 5th, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $60,000 - $93,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
