About the Role
As an Automation Test Manager – UI/API & GenAI, you will make an impact by leading the design, development, and implementation of scalable test automation solutions that enhance software quality and accelerate delivery. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, development teams, architects, and quality engineering professionals to drive automation excellence.
In This Role, You Will:
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of robust UI and API test automation solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using industry best practices.
• Provide guidance and mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality testing solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, quality processes, and automation best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation and testing challenges in a timely manner.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging emerging technologies, including Generative AI solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, automation standards, and reusable test assets.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to support successful project delivery and quality outcomes.
Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a Cognizant or client office in Charlotte, NC. What You Need to Have to Be Considered
• Extensive experience in test automation using Java, Selenium, Gherkin, Git, GitHub, and Python.
• Strong experience designing and implementing UI and API automation testing solutions.
• Experience working with Generative AI solutions, including Microsoft Copilot and Claude.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and modern software development practices.
• Experience leading automation initiatives and providing technical mentorship to engineering teams.
• Proven client communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and implement scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise transformation programs.
• Knowledge of quality engineering best practices and test strategy development.
• Experience integrating AI-powered capabilities into testing processes.
• Relevant automation, quality engineering, or cloud certifications.
