About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Architect – Blockchain & Commercial Banking to join a strategic transformation initiative focused on digital money, stablecoins, and blockchain-based digital assets. This role sits at the intersection of commercial banking and emerging digital asset ecosystems and requires a professional who can architect robust, scalable, and secure technology solutions that bridge traditional banking infrastructure with blockchain networks.

The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in commercial banking operations as well as extensive knowledge of blockchain technologies, digital asset management, and the architectural implications of integrating digital assets within regulated financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end technical infrastructure solutions supporting digital money initiatives, including stablecoin-related use cases. • Bridge the gap between commercial banking requirements and blockchain-based digital asset ecosystems. • Define architecture patterns and integration frameworks connecting traditional banking platforms with blockchain networks. • Advise stakeholders on technical considerations related to digital asset custody, settlement mechanisms, wallet infrastructure, and transaction processing. • Collaborate closely with business leaders, product teams, compliance functions, security specialists, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures. • Evaluate and recommend blockchain platforms, protocols, infrastructure components, and development tooling suitable for commercial banking environments. • Ensure architectural designs comply with regulatory, security, resilience, and operational standards. • Lead technical workshops, architecture reviews, and strategic discussions across cross-functional teams. • Develop architectural roadmaps supporting the adoption of blockchain-enabled financial services. • Provide expert guidance on on-chain and off-chain transaction models, interoperability, and integration approaches.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Senior IT Architect within banking, financial services, or a highly regulated environment. • Deep understanding of commercial banking operations, products, and processes. • Strong expertise in blockchain technologies, distributed ledger technologies (DLT), stablecoins, tokenization, and digital assets. • Demonstrated experience designing infrastructure and integration architectures connecting traditional financial systems with blockchain networks. • Solid knowledge of digital asset custody models, wallet technologies, key management, and transaction lifecycle management. • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks affecting digital assets and banking, including MiCA, DORA, and related European regulations. • Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, middleware, and service-oriented architectures. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on digital money, Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), stablecoin, or tokenization initiatives within a financial institution. • Hands-on knowledge of enterprise blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, or similar technologies. • Experience with API-based integration models connecting core banking systems and blockchain infrastructure. • Understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns and secure financial services infrastructure. • Experience operating within complex regulatory and compliance-driven environments.
