About the role
As a Java Lead, you will make an impact by leading the design, development, support, and continuous improvement of scalable enterprise applications built with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular, AWS,AMS Support Lead experience and Oracle database technologies. You will be a valued member of the Technology & Engineering team and work collaboratively with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions that support critical business operations.

In this role, you will:
Lead end-to-end application design, development, and support for complex enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular, AWS, and Oracle technologies.
Improve application performance and reliability by analyzing bottlenecks, optimizing database interactions, strengthening monitoring and alerting practices, and supporting effective incident response.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions that align with existing systems, integration needs, and business goals.
Promote high-quality delivery through code reviews, automated testing practices, standardized release processes, documentation, and structured management of technical debt.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3-4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Atlanta, GA. What you need to have to be considered
AMS Support Lead experience
Experience in Application Maintenance and Support initiatives for enterprise applications.
Strong hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
Experience with Angular for front-end or full-stack application development.
Experience working with AWS cloud services in enterprise application environments.
Experience with Oracle databases, including integration, performance tuning, or database interaction optimization.
These will help you stand out
Knowledge of containerization, version control workflows, configuration management, and modern release practices.
Experience with automated testing, code quality practices, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
Exposure to transportation and logistics domain
Strong working knowledge of Python.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $65,447 to $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
