Job Summary
We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support data platform initiatives on Azure and Databricks. This role involves working closely with business and product teams to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications and data mappings. You will play a key role in data analysis, validation, and ensuring data quality across cloud-based systems. The position requires strong analytical skills, SQL expertise, and the ability to work effectively in an Agile environment.
In this role, you will:
· Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to gather and analyze requirements.
· Create functional specification documents and source-to-target mapping documents.
· Perform data analysis, data profiling, validation, and lineage interpretation.
· Write SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate data across systems.
· Use Databricks notebooks for data exploration and analysis in a cloud environment.
· Support data classification and ensure adherence to data quality standards.
· Provide walkthroughs of requirements to developers, engineers, and QA teams.
· Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and PI discussions.
What you need to have to be considered
· 3-6 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Data Analyst.
· Strong experience with source-to-target mapping and understanding of data lineage concepts.
· Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
· Hands-on or working knowledge of Azure data platforms and Databricks.
· Solid understanding of data profiling, validation, and cloud concepts.
· Experience in Agile delivery models and working with cross-functional teams.
· Strong communication and analytical skills.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The hourly salary for this position is between $[73,000 - 85,500] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
