About the role
As a Senior Facets Technical Consultant, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting complex Facets-based solutions that enable scalable, high-quality healthcare platforms. You will be a valued member of a cross-functional delivery team and work collaboratively with product consultants, architects, DevOps engineers, and client stakeholders to deliver modern, cloud-enabled Facets implementations.
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and support custom Facets components leveraging the core Facets data model, Java, streaming technologies, and cloud platforms
Lead development and testing for medium to large, complex components, including high-level design (HLD) creation and design reviews
Analyze impacts to custom interfaces and integrations related to Facets and enterprise transformation programs
Apply modern DevOps and CI/CD practices, including version control, automated builds, testing, and deployments
Collaborate with onsite teams and clients to gather requirements, provide functional clarifications, and ensure technical feasibility
Support solution and response teams by contributing to case studies, solution approaches, and implementation strategies
Identify value-added enhancements to improve existing features and reduce recurring implementation issues
Guide product specialists and junior team members in translating high-level designs into detailed, scalable solutions

What you need to have to be considered
Strong hands-on experience as a Facets Consultant, with deep expertise in core Facets modules such as Claims and Membership/Eligibility
Approximately 10 years of experience working with Facets core modules in healthcare payer environments
5+ years of experience developing custom solutions using Java (Spring Boot), APIs, Oracle, and SQL
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, including GitHub or similar version control and automation tools
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams
Proficiency with healthcare data models, system integrations, and interface impact analysis
Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients and distributed teams
These will help you stand out
Experience with cloud technologies, containerization, and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
Exposure to Kafka, Python, Unix scripting, logging/monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk), and PostgreSQL
Hands-on experience with automation and quality tools such as Sonar, Maven, Nexus, Selenium, and REST-assured
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot) to improve productivity and delivery quality
Ability to mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $110K - $128K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
