Job summary

We are seeking a GeoSpatial Senior Developer with expertise in Java and Spark technologies to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 12 years of experience in developing scalable solutions leveraging Spark in Scala SQL and geospatial data processing. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects during day shifts.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement scalable geospatial solutions using Java Spark in Scala and SQL to meet project requirements and business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design test and deploy geospatial applications that enhance data-driven decision-making.
  • Analyze complex geospatial datasets to extract meaningful insights and optimize data processing workflows for improved efficiency.
  • Provide technical expertise in Spark and Scala to ensure high-performance data processing and seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Oversee the development of geospatial algorithms and tools to support advanced analytics and visualization capabilities.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices to maintain the quality and reliability of geospatial applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to geospatial data processing and application performance.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to foster continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications and deliverables.
  • Maintain documentation for geospatial applications including design specifications user guides and operational procedures.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in geospatial data processing and analytics to drive innovation within the team.
  • Optimize Spark-based workflows to handle large-scale geospatial datasets efficiently and effectively.
  • Contribute to the companys mission by developing solutions that address societal challenges through geospatial insights.


Qualifications

  • Possess strong expertise in Spark in Scala SQL and Java with a proven track record of developing scalable geospatial solutions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in handling complex geospatial datasets and implementing efficient data processing workflows.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Showcase strong collaboration and communication skills to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Have a deep understanding of geospatial algorithms and tools with the ability to design and implement advanced analytics solutions.
  • Display a commitment to coding standards and best practices to ensure high-quality application development.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in geospatial data processing and analytics to drive innovation.
  • Possess a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in geospatial development and data processing.
  • Show adaptability to work in a hybrid model balancing remote and on-site collaboration effectively.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and applying new technologies to enhance project outcomes.
  • Exhibit strong documentation skills to maintain comprehensive records of application design and operational procedures.
  • Have a passion for contributing to impactful projects that benefit society through geospatial insights.
