About the role
As a QE Automation Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and executing robust test automation frameworks to ensure the quality and reliability of enterprise applications. You will be a valued member of the QA and Engineering team, working closely with developers, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.

In this role, you will:
• Design and build scalable test automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright and Selenium
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Java, TypeScript, and Swift (XCUITest) for iOS applications
• Perform functional and integration testing to validate end-to-end business workflows
• Collaborate with development teams in Agile environments, contributing to architecture discussions and test strategies
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and effectively communicate risks, issues, and recommendations

Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Austin, TX. What you need to have to be considered
• 6+ years of experience in software development and/or testing with strong business analysis skills
• Hands-on experience with Java and TypeScript programming
• Proven expertise in building automation frameworks using Playwright and Selenium
• Experience in mobile application testing for iOS, including Swift and XCUITest (XCUI)
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills

These will help you stand out
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, or AWS
• Exposure to performance testing and tools like JMeter
• Familiarity with design patterns and participation in architecture discussions
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and testing best practices
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, self-driven mindset
