We are seeking a Full Stack Technical Lead (Java, Angular, AWS/Azure) with 12+ years of experience to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance applications. This role combines hands-on engineering, architecture ownership, and team leadership, driving the delivery of modern, cloud-native solutions.

You will play a key role in building microservices-based applications using Java (Spring Boot) and Angular, while guiding technical decisions across AWS/Azure environments. The role involves mentoring engineers, ensuring delivery excellence, and promoting best practices across development, DevOps, and system design.

As part of a forward-looking engineering team, you will also help drive AI-assisted development (e.g., Copilot) to enhance productivity and code quality, while contributing to the evolution of scalable, resilient platforms.


About the Role

We’re looking for a Full Stack Technical Lead to drive the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-native applications. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll combine architecture ownership, coding, and team leadership to build modern, high-performance systems.

You’ll work across the stack using Java (Spring Boot) microservices and Angular, while leading key technical decisions in AWS/Azure environments. Beyond development, you’ll mentor engineers, enforce best practices, and accelerate delivery through DevOps and AI-assisted tools like Copilot.

In This Role You Will

· Lead end-to-end architecture and design of scalable, cloud-native full stack applications

· Develop hands-on using Java (Spring Boot) and Angular or Node.js

· Own technical decisions across architecture, design, and technology selection

· Mentor engineers and drive code quality through reviews and best practices

· Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions

· Drive cloud and DevOps adoption across AWS, Azure, or OpenShift environments

· Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

· Promote AI-assisted development (e.g., Copilot)

· Ensure performance, scalability, security, and reliability

· Own delivery timelines, risks, and dependencies

· Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using tools like Splunk and Dynatrace

· Drive automation, innovation, and reduction of technical debt


Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON, CAN. Required Qualifications

· Strong experience with Java (Spring Boot) in full stack environments

· Hands-on experience with Angular and/or Node.js

· Experience designing and building cloud-native applications

· Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or OpenShift

· Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

· Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions

· Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems

· Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk or Dynatrace

· Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience

· Strong understanding of Agile delivery

· Solid communication and stakeholder management skills

Salary and Other Compensation

Applications will be accepted until July 12th, 2026.
The annual salary for this position ranges from $75,000 – $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to applicable plan terms.
