Job Summary
We are seeking a Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reporting solutions. This role involves working closely with business analysts and product teams to understand requirements and translate them into data visualizations. You will be responsible for SQL-based data extraction, report development, and ensuring high-quality deliverables through testing and collaboration with QA teams. The position requires strong Power BI expertise, data analysis skills, and experience working in Agile environments.
In this role, you will:
· Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
· Collaborate with BSA and product teams to understand and translate requirements into analytical solutions.
· Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data for reporting purposes.
· Update and maintain source-to-target mapping documents.
· Perform unit testing and support defect resolution in collaboration with QA and business testers.
· Coordinate with Power BI administrators for report deployment and version control.
· Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and PI sessions.
· Collaborate with offshore teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of reporting solutions.
What you need to have to be considered
· 4–6 years of experience as a Power BI Developer or BI Engineer.
· Strong expertise in Power BI (Desktop, Service, and report development).
· Hands-on experience with SQL for data querying and transformation.
· Familiarity with version control tools such as GitHub.
· Knowledge of data modeling and BI best practices is a plus.
· Experience with Unity Catalog or similar data governance tools is good to have.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional and distributed teams.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $[62,550 - 84,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
