Role Summary
Seeking an AWS Data Modeller with strong data migration experience to design scalable data models, semantic layers, and reporting-ready datasets across AWS and Databricks platforms, enabling governed Tableau reporting and business-ready analytics.
Key Responsibilities
· Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for AWS-based data platforms.
· Support data migration activities including source assessment, mapping, transformation rules, validation, and reconciliation.
· Develop dimensional, semantic, and reporting-ready data structures for Tableau consumption.
· Collaborate with business, architecture, engineering, and BI teams to translate requirements into data models.
· Define source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, metadata, lineage, and data quality rules.
· Support Databricks lakehouse design, curated data layers, and performance-focused modelling standards.
· Ensure model quality, governance, security, scalability, and reporting alignment across analytics use cases.
Must-Have Skills

Data Migration | Must have experience in migration planning, source-to-target mapping, transformation rules, data validation, reconciliation, and cutover support. |
AWS | Strong understanding of AWS data services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, IAM, and Lake Formation. |
Databricks | Experience with lakehouse concepts, Delta Lake, curated layers, and data engineering collaboration. |
Semantic Modeling | Ability to define business entities, metrics, dimensions, relationships, and reusable semantic models. |
Tableau Reporting | Experience designing reporting-ready datasets and optimized models for Tableau dashboards. |
SQL & Data Modelling | Strong SQL, dimensional modelling, ER modelling, data profiling, and source-to-target mapping skills. |
Preferred Qualifications
· 13+ years of experience in data modelling, data warehousing, BI, migration, or cloud data platform projects.
· Hands-on exposure to AWS, Databricks, data modernization, and legacy-to-cloud migration programs.
· Knowledge of data quality, governance, access controls, and enterprise reporting standards.
· AWS, Databricks, or Tableau certification is an added advantage.
Expected Deliverables
· Logical and physical data models, semantic model definitions, and reporting-ready datasets.
· Migration mappings, transformation rules, data dictionary, lineage, validation rules, and modelling documentation.
· Tableau-aligned data structures supporting scalable, governed, and self-service analytics.
