Site Reliability Engineer (Linux & Cloud)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with strong expertise in Linux Administration, Cloud Operations, and Production Support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the stability, performance, scalability, and availability of mission-critical applications and infrastructure in a 24x7 environment.
This role requires hands-on experience supporting large-scale Linux environments, troubleshooting complex production issues, automating operational tasks, and managing cloud-based platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support highly available production environments running on Linux platforms.
- Monitor application and infrastructure health, ensuring optimal performance and system availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, server, network, and cloud-related incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures to improve platform reliability.
- Automate operational and maintenance tasks using scripting tools and frameworks.
- Work closely with Development, Infrastructure, Security, and Cloud teams to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Manage deployments, system upgrades, patching activities, and environment maintenance.
- Implement and support monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions.
- Support cloud infrastructure and services hosted on Microsoft Azure.
- Participate in on-call support and incident management processes.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Linux Administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- Experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Support, Cloud Operations, or Application Support.
- Good understanding of Linux system internals, performance tuning, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Services.
- Knowledge of cloud networking, identity management, compute, storage, and monitoring services.
- Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Shell Scripting, or Bash.
- Experience working with web servers, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls, and SSL/TLS.
- Experience supporting mission-critical applications in a 24x7 environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, ELK, or Prometheus.
- Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
- Understanding of security and compliance best practices.
- Experience in BFSI, FinTech, or other highly regulated industries is an added advantage.
