About the role

As a Scrum Master, you will make an impact by enabling agile delivery for data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives. You will be a valued member of the Data team and work collaboratively with Data Product Owners, data engineers, analytics engineers, data scientists, BI developers, and business stakeholders to drive the successful delivery of data products and platforms.

In this role, you will:

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for one or more data-focused teams.
  • Partner closely with Data Product Owners to maintain and prioritize a healthy backlog of data pipelines, analytics initiatives, platform enhancements, and infrastructure work.
  • Identify, manage, and remove impediments impacting delivery, including dependencies across engineering, product, platform, and business teams.
  • Track and communicate Agile delivery metrics such as velocity, burndown, cycle time, and team performance trends to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Coach teams on Agile best practices, continuous improvement, collaboration, and servant leadership while fostering a psychologically safe team environment.
  • Coordinate releases and support delivery planning for data products, ensuring alignment with data quality standards, governance requirements, and service-level expectations.
  • Manage data-related delivery risks including schema changes, upstream system dependencies, platform stability concerns, and compliance checkpoints.

What you need to have to be considered

  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or similar Agile delivery leadership role supporting technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience supporting data, analytics, engineering, or technology-focused teams.
  • Familiarity with data concepts including ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, data quality management, reporting, and analytics lifecycles.
  • Proven experience using Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent facilitation, stakeholder management, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional dependencies and support successful delivery outcomes.

These will help you stand out

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Agilist, or similar Agile certification.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms and tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Airflow, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
  • Experience coordinating delivery of data products, analytics solutions, or cloud-based data platforms.
  • Familiarity with scaled Agile frameworks such as SAFe or LeSS.
  • Experience supporting geographically distributed teams within large enterprise environments.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until August 17th, 2026.

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
