Generative AI Lead – .NET | Remote
We are seeking a hands-on Lead Agentic AI to drive the design and delivery of scalable software solutions that combine .NET engineering with modern Generative AI capabilities. This role will lead technical execution, guide development teams, and collaborate with architects and stakeholders to build maintainable, enterprise-ready applications using Python, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), LangChain, LangGraph, and FastAPI.
· Lead the hands-on development and implementation of software projects using .NET and Agentic AI technologies.
· Design and build Generative AI solutions using Python, RAG, LangChain, LangGraph, and FastAPI.
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams while promoting engineering best practices and high-quality delivery standards.
· Collaborate with architects and technical leaders to define scalable, secure, and maintainable solution designs.
· Translate business and technical requirements into clear implementation approaches and reusable software components.
· Support technical reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle.
· Evaluate emerging technologies and incorporate appropriate capabilities into the engineering roadmap.
· Communicate technical decisions, risks, and progress clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
· Proven-hands-on software development experience with .NET technologies.
· Strong Python development skills and experience building production-ready APIs with FastAPI.
· Practical experience designing or implementing Agentic AI and Generative AI solutions.
· Hands-on experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), LangChain, and LangGraph.
· Experience designing scalable, maintainable, and enterprise-grade software architectures.
· Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery and mentor software development teams.
· Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, security, and performance optimization.
· Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
· Experience integrating AI capabilities into .NET-based enterprise applications.
· Knowledge of cloud-native application development, microservices, and API integration patterns.
· Familiarity with large language models, vector search, prompt engineering, and responsible AI practices.
· Experience working in client-facing or consulting delivery environments.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $81K – $141K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
