About the role
As a Senior QA Automation Engineer - AI/Data Applications, you will make an impact by validating the quality, performance, and reliability of AI and data-driven applications through automated and backend testing practices. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
• Design, build, and execute automated test scripts using Tosca and Tosca DI, validating SQL queries against Oracle or other databases.
• Perform backend testing, including validating ETL jobs using Unix commands, Putty, and WinSCP.
• Test and validate AI-powered applications, applying AI-driven approaches to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using Harness, API testing via Postman, and manage test cases, cards, and defects in Jira.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop test plans, communicate quality risks, and drive an automation-first testing mindset.

What you need to have to be considered
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Tosca and Tosca DI, including SQL querying against Oracle or other databases.

• Knowledge of testing AI applications and incorporating AI into testing practices.

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $80,000- $115,000 CAN per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
