About the role
We are seeking a highly qualified .Net FSE with min 7+ years’ experience developing and building high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications. As a .Net FSE, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will leverage your expertise in ASP .NET, .Net Framework, SQL, IBM MQ, and Azure cloud to drive innovation and efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to impactful projects that align with the company’s vision.
In this role, you will:
· Backend & API Development — Design and implement robust ASP.NET Core Web APIs and microservices that meet complex enterprise requirements with high performance, security, and maintainability, while also building and consuming REST-based and legacy service integrations using ADO.NET and .NET Framework components.
· Database Engineering — Develop, optimize, and review SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas using SQL Developer to ensure reliable data access and optimal response times for both transactional and reporting workloads.
· Front-End Development — Create and enhance ASP.NET MVC and Web Pages user interfaces using JavaScript and jQuery to deliver intuitive, accessible, and responsive experiences aligned with product expectations.
· Messaging & Integration — Integrate and manage IBM MQ-based messaging flows to enable reliable asynchronous processing, fault tolerance, and graceful error handling across distributed systems.
· DevOps & Tooling — Leverage Git and Azure DevOps for branching, pull requests, code reviews, and automated build/release pipelines, while responsibly using GitHub Copilot to boost productivity without compromising code quality or security.
· Testing, Collaboration & Documentation — Maintain Postman collections and automated API tests for functional and regression coverage, collaborate within an Agile team across the full sprint cycle, and document technical designs, flows, and runbooks to support smooth handover and consistent operations.
· Production Support, Reliability & Observability (SRE) — Provide production support by applying SRE practices (defining SLIs/SLOs and analyzing error budgets), using Dynatrace and related observability tooling to monitor health, trace transactions, and proactively tune performance before user impact, and performing root cause analysis of incidents by correlating logs, metrics, traces, and database statistics to implement targeted fixes and preventive measures that reduce recurrence and improve resilience.

What you need to have to be considered:
· 7+ Years of proven experience.
· Primary - ASP .NET Core, MVC, Microservices, Web API, MSSQL, Helios, Yaml, GitHub.
· Secondary - Front End Framework (React/Angular, jQuery), IBM MQ, SRE practices, deep observability, L2/L3 Support Procedures, Vendor/Cross team Collaboration and Agile delivery.

Salary and compensation:
The annual salary for this position will be between $60,000 to $115,000 per year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
