VMWare Architect

Scope of Project: DataCenter Consolidation and Lift & Shift Cloud Migration
- Drive Design & Architecture conversations with the client for the VMWare migration as we exit the DCs and migrate to both Azure (for critical workloads) and on premises
- Discovery, design and planning for VMware infrastructure.
- Compute platform design, HLD and LLD for Joplin facility.
- Greenfield compute platform build and deployment as per approved design.
- VMware-to-VMware V2V migration using customer-provided existing tools.
- Migration of 600 T3/T4 business application VMs and 300 T1/T2 application VMs.
- Migration of production and non-production Windows and Linux servers to AVS where applicable.
- Move group creation, wave planning, cutover execution and validation support.
- HA/DR setup for critical applications where required to restore pre-migration posture.
- Hypercare, knowledge transfer and handover.
Need expert level expertise and a minimum of 10 Yrs + on below
- VMware Migration Consultative/Leadership
- Architecture and Build Design for AVS
Soft skills: Leader, Consultative, Articulate, Team player, Ability to influence based on experience. Flexibility and experience in working with distributed teams (offshore, nearshore, etc.)
The Salary for this position will be 119,000 to 138,000 yearly depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
