About the role

As a Consultant – Data Analytics, you will make an impact by supporting strategic Finance and Risk transformation initiatives for a leading Canadian banking client. You will be a valued member of the Banking & Financial Services team and work collaboratively with Finance, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable insights, reporting solutions, and data-driven decision-making capabilities.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a Business Systems Analyst on the Finance & Risk Platform (FRP) program, gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements from Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Operations stakeholders

  • Conduct current-state assessments of reporting and data processes, define target-state KPIs and success measures, and identify opportunities for process optimization and automation

  • Support OFSAA analytics and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) migration initiatives, including data validation, reconciliation, and analysis of finance and risk metrics

  • Build and maintain executive-level dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and Sigma Computing

  • Drive the end-to-end project lifecycle including requirements gathering, testing, UAT coordination, go-live support, post-implementation measurement, and data governance activities

What you must have to be considered

  • 1–3 years of experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, or Business Systems Analysis within Banking, Financial Services, or related industries

  • Experience gathering and documenting business, functional, and reporting requirements from business stakeholders

  • Hands-on experience with SQL and at least one business intelligence platform such as Power BI, Tableau, or Sigma Computing

  • Experience performing data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and reporting activities

  • Familiarity with Finance, Risk, Regulatory Reporting, or Compliance data domains

  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks

  • Strong written communication skills with experience creating SOPs, process documentation, operating models, or business artifacts

  • Experience supporting UAT planning, test execution, defect tracking, and business validation activities

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments

These will help you succeed

  • Experience with Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA) and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC)

  • Snowflake certification

  • Experience developing executive dashboards and performance reporting solutions

  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation use cases

  • Experience authoring Target Operating Model (TOM) documentation and operational procedures

  • Knowledge of Finance and Risk reporting concepts within Banking and Financial Services

  • Experience supporting data governance, data quality, and regulatory reporting initiatives

  • Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics capabilities, including Copilot-style insights, analytics agents, and Snowflake Cortex

  • Ability to identify and implement workflow automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve reporting efficiency

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $70,000 - $80,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
