Data Scientist – OMP Supply Chain Planning

Job Summary

This hybrid role seeks an experienced data scientist with strong expertise in OMP Sales and Operations Planning OMP S and OP and OMP Supply Chain Planning to build advanced analytics and optimization solutions for global supply chain and manufacturing operations. The candidate will design data driven models that improve planning accuracy streamline operations and support strategic decision making across the enterprise.


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced predictive and prescriptive models that enhance OMP Sales and Operations Planning accuracy and support reliable demand and supply balancing for global operations.
  • Develop robust analytical frameworks that integrate OMP S and OP processes with enterprise data assets to improve visibility scenario analysis and long term planning outcomes.
  • Create and refine optimization algorithms embedded into OMP Supply Chain Planning workflows to reduce inventory costs improve service levels and increase responsiveness to market changes.
  • Collaborate with cross functional planning and operations teams in a hybrid work environment to translate complex business problems in manufacturing and supply chain into tractable data science solutions.
  • Build scalable data pipelines and feature engineering logic that ensure high quality inputs into OMP planning models and enable consistent performance across regions and product lines.
  • Evaluate model performance using rigorous statistical techniques and business focused metrics and iterate solutions to maximize accuracy reliability and usability for planning stakeholders.
  • Provide clear data backed insights through dashboards and reports that help planners and managers make informed day shift decisions about production inventory and distribution without travel requirements.
  • Apply domain knowledge in manufacturing and supply chain to design realistic constraints business rules and scenario assumptions that align analytical models with operational realities.
  • Partner with platform and IT teams to ensure secure efficient and reliable deployment of data science assets within OMP environments and associated enterprise systems.
  • Document model designs data assumptions and implementation details in accessible formats so planning teams can understand methodology limitations and recommended use cases.
  • Support continuous improvement by analyzing historical planning performance identifying root causes of forecast or plan deviations and proposing data driven corrective actions.
  • Mentor junior team members in practical data science techniques and best practices for working with OMP planning tools fostering a culture of experimentation and evidence based decision making.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback on analytics usability refine solution features and align data science roadmaps with evolving business objectives and societal impact goals.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrate strong experience in data science with eight to twelve years of practice applying analytics and optimization to real world planning challenges.
  • Exhibit deep hands on expertise with OMP Sales and Operations Planning OMP S and OP and OMP Supply Chain Planning configuration and analytical integration.
  • Show proficiency in statistical modeling machine learning and optimization techniques used to forecast demand plan supply and balance service levels against cost.
  • Possess practical working knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain domains including production processes inventory management and distribution planning.
  • Display advanced capability in working with large structured and semi structured datasets using programming and data manipulation tools commonly applied in analytics projects.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to planning professionals and business partners enabling effective adoption of analytical solutions.
  • Adhere to hybrid work expectations with effective collaboration during day shifts and strong self management skills for independent analytical tasks.


Certifications Required

Certified Analytics Professional or equivalent OMP platform training or certification preferred for planning and supply chain analytics.
