Job Summary

The Intermediate Mobile Application Test Engineer role focuses on delivering high quality mobile applications and automotive verification and validation outcomes for an MNC operating in a hybrid work model. The candidate will design and execute functional and automated tests across Android and iOS platforms with emphasis on automotive grade verification and validation.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product owners and architects to interpret business and technical requirements into detailed test conditions for mobile applications across Android and iOS platforms in alignment with automotive verification and validation standards
  • Design comprehensive test scenarios and test cases for native Android and iOS applications that cover functional usability performance and compatibility aspects across diverse devices and operating system versions
  • Develop mobile test automation scripts using modern frameworks and tools to increase regression coverage and reduce manual testing cycles for high priority automotive features
  • Execute manual and automated tests for mobile applications integrated with automotive systems ensuring accurate validation of in vehicle features connectivity and telematics services
  • Analyze test results and defects to identify patterns root causes and areas of improvement in mobile application behavior with a focus on automotive safety and reliability expectations
  • Work closely with mobile development teams for Android and iOS to clarify defect details reproduce complex issues and validate timely fixes in a hybrid work setup
  • Coordinate with automotive domain experts to align verification and validation activities with industry practices regulatory expectations and original equipment manufacturer requirements
  • Prepare and maintain detailed test documentation including test plans test cases execution reports and defect summaries that support release readiness decisions for mobile and automotive solutions
  • Perform integration testing of mobile applications with backend services hardware in the loop systems and automotive infotainment platforms ensuring consistent performance and data integrity
  • Conduct exploratory testing sessions on new features and early prototypes to uncover edge cases usability concerns and platform specific behaviors before formal test cycles
  • Support day shift release activities by participating in go no go discussions providing test status insights and confirming that critical automotive verification and validation checkpoints are met
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives by refining test strategies optimizing automation coverage and sharing lessons learned from defects and field feedback to enhance product quality
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders and onsite teams when travel is required to support test execution workshops user acceptance testing and joint reviews of automotive verification and validation outcomes


Qualifications

  • Possess professional experience in mobile testing across Android and iOS platforms with a strong understanding of native application architectures user experience expectations and device ecosystem constraints
  • Demonstrate hands on proficiency in mobile test automation using contemporary tools and frameworks with the ability to design maintain and optimize reusable automation suites for regression and smoke testing
  • Bring practical knowledge of mobile application development fundamentals for Android and iOS enabling effective collaboration with developers and improved understanding of code changes and their testing impact
  • Apply solid experience in automotive verification and validation including familiarity with in vehicle systems communication protocols infotainment platforms and safety focused testing approaches
  • Utilize domain experience in auto verification and validation to design test coverage that reflects real world driving scenarios connectivity conditions and regulatory evaluation criteria
  • Exhibit familiarity with hybrid work practices clear communication habits and collaborative tools to coordinate efficiently with distributed development and quality teams in a day shift environment
  • Display strong analytical and problem solving abilities to interpret defect trends assess product risk and prioritize test efforts based on user impact and business criticality for mobile and automotive solutions
  • Show experience with defect tracking and test management tools enabling consistent documentation of test progress defect lifecycle and release readiness indicators


Certifications Required

ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level or equivalent mobile testing certification is preferred
