About the role
As a GenAI Architect – AI Assurance & Quality Engineering, you will make an impact by leading the design, implementation, and assurance of enterprise-scale AI and Generative AI solutions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and AI Centers of Excellence, defining AI quality strategies, governance frameworks, and testing approaches that ensure reliable, scalable, and responsible AI implementations.
You will be a valued member of the AI and Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with business leaders, data scientists, AI engineers, enterprise architects, and development teams to drive successful AI adoption across the organization.
In this role, you will:
Define and implement enterprise AI Assurance and AI Testing strategies for Generative AI and machine learning solutions.
Design scalable AI architectures leveraging LLMs, Vector Databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), cloud-native platforms, and modern AI frameworks.
Partner with business stakeholders and AI Centers of Excellence to identify, prioritize, and deliver AI-driven transformation initiatives.
Lead quality engineering initiatives for AI-powered applications, ensuring reliability, performance, accuracy, security, and responsible AI adoption.
Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance across Python-based AI solutions, enterprise cloud architectures, AI/ML platforms, and automation frameworks.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in New York, NY. What you need to have to be considered
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, AI/ML, or a related technical field.
15+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, Solution Architecture, or related technology leadership roles.
Hands-on experience designing and implementing Enterprise AI and Generative AI solutions.
Strong expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG architecture, prompt engineering, Vector Databases, and AI evaluation frameworks.
Experience establishing AI Assurance, AI Testing, and quality governance practices.
Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or other automation technologies.
Strong experience with Python and AI/ML ecosystems.
Expertise in Enterprise Cloud Architecture and modern cloud platforms.
Experience working with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and Quality Engineering practices.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
These will help you stand out
Hands-on experience with Python for AI/ML solution development, automation, and validation activities.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $112,000 to $131,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
