About the role

As a Senior SDET with FinTech & Capital Markets experience, you will make an impact by ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of complex financial technology platforms through robust test automation, quality engineering practices, and continuous testing strategies. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, DevOps Engineers, and global stakeholders.

In this role, you will:

· Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts based on business requirements and technical specifications.

· Collaborate within Agile teams to analyze requirements, define testing strategies, and ensure complete test coverage across applications and integrations.

· Design and implement scalable automation frameworks and solutions using Selenium, Cucumber, and related testing technologies.

· Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing while identifying, tracking, and communicating defects, risks, and quality concerns.

· Continuously improve testing methodologies, quality assurance processes, and test automation practices to increase efficiency and coverage.

· Partner with Development, Database, Integration, and Production Support teams to resolve quality issues and ensure successful releases.

· Manage QA environments, support build and deployment activities, and contribute to CI/CD pipeline quality initiatives.

· Leverage AI-enabled and Agentic AI testing approaches to generate intelligent test scenarios, identify high-risk areas, and optimize test execution strategies.

What you need to have to be considered

· 8+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, and test automation.

· Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, and automated testing frameworks.

· Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language such as Java or Python.

· Experience supporting test strategy development, integration testing, and quality assurance across multiple applications and systems.

· Strong SQL skills with experience validating complex datasets and database testing.

· Experience conducting test design reviews, automation code reviews, and evaluating testing technologies and frameworks.

· Knowledge of cloud technologies, preferably AWS.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience collaborating across global teams and stakeholders.

· Experience within Capital Markets, FinTech, Asset Management, Portfolio Investment Management, or Benchmark/Index-related platforms.

These will help you stand out

· Experience working with market data platforms supporting Equity, Forex, Fixed Income, Derivatives, or Options asset classes.

· Experience with automation frameworks such as Karate, Carina, or similar modern testing tools.

· Knowledge of PL/SQL, NoSQL databases, Linux/Unix environments, and Jenkins.

· Experience implementing quality engineering practices within CI/CD environments.

· Exposure to Agentic AI tools for software quality engineering and test optimization.

· Understanding of financial services data flows, trading platforms, investment management systems, or market data integrations.

· Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and promote automation and quality engineering best practices.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 to 112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
