About the role
As a Full Stack Software Engineer – Cloud Licensing Platform, you will make an impact by designing, building and supporting scalable licensing capabilities that enable product activation, entitlement management, renewals, audits and customer-facing workflows. You will be a valued member of the Digital Engineering team and work collaboratively with product, UX, security, compliance, site reliability engineering and other engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure and user-friendly solutions for a leading technology client.
In this role, you will:
· Design, develop, test and operate full-stack licensing features that support product activation, entitlement management, renewals, audits and customer-facing workflows.
· Build intuitive web experiences using React, Redux or comparable front-end frameworks and integrate them with reliable backend APIs.
· Develop and maintain backend services using Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks, supported by PostgreSQL or comparable relational database technologies.
· Work with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based production systems to deliver scalable and resilient solutions.
· Address reliability, scalability, security and compliance needs through access controls, audit logging, secrets management, change management, observability and operational evidence.
· Write maintainable production code, participate in code reviews, improve test coverage and document operational practices to support sound technical decision-making.

What you need to have to be considered:
· 8+ years of strong full-stack software engineering experience with front-end and backend application development.
· Hands-on experience with React, Redux or comparable front-end frameworks.
· Experience developing backend services using Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks.
· Experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational database management systems.
· Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines and production observability or monitoring tools.
· Ability to design and support scalable, reliable and secure systems in cloud-based production environments.
· Experience translating security and compliance requirements into practical engineering solutions.

These will help you stand out:
· Experience building licensing, entitlement, product activation or subscription management platforms.
· Experience supporting systems used by large enterprise customers or regulated environments.
· Familiarity with audit logging, secrets management, change management and operational evidence practices.
· Experience collaborating with product, UX, security, compliance and SRE teams in a production engineering environment.
· Ability to simplify complex technical work while maintaining high standards for quality, reliability and customer experience.

Salary and compensation:
The annual salary for this position will be between $80,000 to $141,000 per year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
