About the role
As a QA Automation Engineer (Connex Payments), you will make an impact by safeguarding the reliability, security, and performance of our payment systems, with a core focus on the Connex switch environment. You will be a valued member of the Quality Assurance/Enterprise Payments team and work collaboratively with engineering, payments operations, and compliance stakeholders to modernize QA practices across the organization.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct end-to-end testing across core switch functionalities, including transaction routing, authorization, Stand-In Processing (STIP), Store & Forward (SAF), and switch interface validation
- Analyze and test Switch Core & System Architecture (e.g., HP NonStop/Tandem environments, host interfaces, transaction engines) to ensure high throughput, resilience, and minimal latency
- Parse and validate payment messages against ISO 8583, AS2805, and related network communication protocols across switch-to-host and switch-to-scheme interfaces
- Verify End-of-Day (EOD) processing, batch file generation, clearing, interchange settlement, and reconciliation workflows between POS/ATM terminals, switches, and schemes
- Design and execute API tests using Postman and build robust end-to-end automation using Playwright, integrating automated suites into CI/CD pipelines for fast feedback loops

These will help you stand out
- Familiarity testing payment applications on Android-based payment terminals (e.g., Verifone Android terminals)
- ISTQB certification or other payments industry certifications
- Experience with automated payment simulators (e.g., Paysim/FinSim)
- Working knowledge of terminal management interfaces (e.g., PAX, VHQ) or payment gateway integrations (e.g., Linkly)
- Demonstrated use of AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or custom AI test utilities) to accelerate test design and defect triage
We're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways. Don't hesitate to apply, even if you only meet the minimum requirements listed.
