About the role
As a Sr. UI/UX Designer, you will make an impact by leading the design of modern digital experiences across web and mobile channels within the banking and financial services domain. You will be responsible for shaping intuitive, accessible, and user-centered solutions that improve customer and advisor experiences while supporting business objectives.
You will be a valued member of the Digital Experience team and work closely with product managers, business stakeholders, developers, researchers, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance engagement, usability, and customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will:
Lead discovery workshops, design thinking sessions, and stakeholder interviews to understand business objectives, user needs, and experience requirements.
Create user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications that deliver intuitive and engaging user experiences.
Define and maintain design standards, component libraries, and design system assets to ensure consistency and scalability across digital products.
Collaborate with product, business, and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle to translate requirements into user-centric design solutions.
Conduct usability testing, gather user feedback, and leverage insights to continuously improve digital experiences and product adoption.
Advocate for Human-Centered Design principles and accessibility standards throughout the design and development process.
Partner with development teams during Agile delivery cycles to ensure design intent is accurately implemented.
Contribute to strategic UX initiatives that drive innovation, improve customer satisfaction, and support digital transformation goals.
What you need to have to be considered
Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, Experience Designer, or similar role delivering enterprise-scale digital solutions.
Strong expertise in User Experience (UX) strategy, interaction design, information architecture, and user-centered design methodologies.
Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar platforms.
Experience creating wireframes, interactive prototypes, user flows, journey maps, and high-fidelity visual designs.
Strong understanding of accessibility standards, including WCAG guidelines and inclusive design practices.
Experience developing and maintaining design systems, component libraries, and reusable design patterns.
Ability to facilitate workshops and effectively communicate design concepts to business and technical stakeholders.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
Excellent presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
These will help you stand out
Experience within banking, financial services, wealth management, or related regulated industries.
Knowledge of customer and advisor-facing digital platforms.
Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and design validation activities.
Familiarity with front-end technologies and responsive design best practices.
Experience leading cross-functional design initiatives in complex enterprise environments.
Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX design processes and measurable business impact.
Experience mentoring junior designers and promoting UX best practices across teams.
Work Model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring periodic attendance at a Cognizant office or client location.
The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on project, client, or business requirements.
Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until October 25, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $92,000-$106,000 CAD depending on experience and other
qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and
subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
