About the role
As a Consulting Principal focused on Insurance Program Management, you will make an impact by converting business priorities into executable programs and leading complex initiatives from concept through delivery. You will be a valued member of the Consulting team and work collaboratively with client business and IT leaders, project stakeholders, and Cognizant teams in Japan and globally.
In this role, you will:
· Partner proactively with business, project, and IT stakeholders to shape business needs into clear initiatives and support project initiation.
· Lead end-to-end program delivery, maintaining accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, deliverables, and project financial performance.
· Establish effective governance for progress, changes, issues, dependencies, and risks, providing timely reporting and escalation to relevant stakeholders, including C-level executives.
· Build trusted senior stakeholder relationships and align client and Cognizant teams around priorities, decisions, and successful delivery outcomes.
· Contribute to business development and practice growth while leading and developing a senior team, including three or more Senior Manager-level direct reports.
· Consistently demonstrate the Cognizant Way to Lead through personal leadership, organizational leadership, and business leadership.

What you must have to be considered
· 20+ years of relevant professional experience, including leadership of complex programs or projects in a consulting or client-facing environment.
· Demonstrated accountability for delivering programs on time, within budget, and within scope, including project financial management and P&L responsibility.
· Proven ability to engage business and IT stakeholders, translate business needs into executable projects, and manage senior-level expectations and escalations.
· Experience leading senior professionals, including three or more Senior Manager-level direct reports, and contributing to business development or practice growth.
· Advanced Japanese speaking and writing skills, equivalent to JLPT N2, and business-level English.

These will help you succeed
· Experience delivering programs in the insurance industry.
· PMP certification.
· Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification.
· Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and commercial judgment.
