Role Overview
We are seeking a customer-focused and technically proficient Deskside Support / AV Support Specialist to provide onsite Audio Visual (AV), executive technology, and end-user support services in Richmond, VA. This role is heavily focused on AV technologies and conference room support, with responsibility for ensuring seamless meeting experiences for business users and executive leadership. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills, and a service-oriented mindset with experience supporting enterprise collaboration technologies.
This is an onsite position requiring daily presence at the client location. Occasional after-hours support may be required to address critical incidents, executive meetings, or priority business events.
In this role, you will
- Provide comprehensive Audio Visual (AV) support, including setup, operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of conference room and meeting room technologies.
- Ensure successful execution of executive and business-critical meetings by proactively preparing and validating AV equipment prior to scheduled events.
- Support Microsoft Teams Room environments, Teams meetings, video conferencing systems, screen sharing technologies, and collaboration platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AV hardware and software issues involving displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras, codecs, and room control systems.
- Deliver white-glove executive technology support, acting as the primary point of contact for senior leadership during meetings, presentations, and events.
- Provide deskside technical support for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, docking stations, printers, and related end-user technologies.
- Support and maintain Q-SYS AV platforms and integrated room control systems, ensuring optimal performance and system availability.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, network, and vendor teams to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues affecting conference room and collaboration services.
- Document incidents, service requests, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge articles in accordance with IT service management processes and SLA requirements.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating technical information clearly, professionally, and in user-friendly language while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)
- 5+ years of experience in Audio Visual (AV) support, conference room technologies, or end-user support environments.
- Proven experience supporting enterprise AV solutions and meeting room technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across AV hardware, collaboration tools, and desktop technologies.
- Experience providing hands-on deskside support in a corporate environment.
- Knowledge of video conferencing technologies and hybrid meeting platforms.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and customer-facing environment.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional, approachable, and customer-centric attitude.
Ability to prioritize multiple requests and manage executive expectations effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Microsoft Teams meetings and Teams Room solutions.
- Experience administering or supporting Q-SYS platforms and AV control systems.
- Familiarity with Zoom Rooms, Cisco Webex, or other enterprise collaboration solutions.
- ITIL Foundation certification or exposure to ITSM processes.
- Experience supporting executive leadership or VIP users.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work onsite in Richmond, VA on a daily basis.
- Occasional evening, weekend, or after-hours support may be required for priority business events and critical incidents.
- Ability to lift and move AV equipment when necessary.
- Flexibility to support urgent executive meeting requirements.
