Job Summary

Software Engineer working in a hybrid day shift model will design maintain and improve remote desktop support solutions that enhance reliability usability and security for enterprise users. The role focuses on building robust tools and processes that streamline issue resolution reduce downtime and support operations in insurance and other corporate environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop remote desktop support tools and scripts that simplify issue diagnosis and resolution for enterprise users ensuring stable and efficient access to business critical applications and systems.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms for desktop environments to proactively identify performance bottlenecks connectivity issues and application failures reducing user impact and support ticket volume.
  • Configure and maintain remote access infrastructure including client agents and support consoles optimizing security settings and user policies to align with company standards and industry best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex desktop issues across operating systems networks and application stacks by analyzing logs and performance data delivering clear root cause findings and durable fixes.
  • Collaborate with service desk and infrastructure teams to refine incident handling workflows improve escalation paths and ensure consistent knowledge sharing that accelerates problem resolution.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for remote support procedures standard configurations and troubleshooting guides that enable faster onboarding of support staff and improved user self service.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders in property and casualty insurance and other domains to understand workflows coverage systems and underwriting tools ensuring desktop environments fully support operational needs.
  • Optimize software deployment and update processes for desktop applications by streamlining packaging testing and rollout steps minimizing disruption while maintaining compliance and security posture.
  • Conduct regular analysis of support metrics such as incident trends resolution times and user satisfaction scores to identify improvement opportunities and recommend targeted enhancements to tools or processes.
  • Coordinate with security and compliance teams to ensure remote desktop support solutions follow organizational policies including access control data protection and audit requirements.
  • Provide guidance to peers and junior team members on advanced troubleshooting techniques and best practices for remote support contributing to a culture of continuous learning and shared accountability.
  • Engage in hybrid work activities by effectively communicating status documenting changes and participating in virtual and onsite collaboration sessions to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Contribute to initiatives that enhance user experience and productivity in desktop environments helping the company deliver dependable technology that supports customers and communities through resilient services.

Qualifications

  • Possess five to eight years of experience as a software engineer or similar role with a strong focus on remote desktop support solutions and enterprise scale environments.
  • Demonstrate deep proficiency in remote support technologies remote access tools ticketing platforms and operating system configuration to manage complex desktop landscapes.
  • Show experience working with hybrid work models and day shift support including effective communication with distributed teams and structured documentation of technical work.
  • Exhibit familiarity with property and casualty insurance processes such as policy management and claims handling translating domain requirements into practical desktop support improvements.
  • Apply solid knowledge of networking fundamentals system security practices and endpoint management concepts to safeguard remote sessions and maintain reliable connectivity.
  • Utilize scripting or automation capabilities to streamline repetitive support tasks improve consistency of fixes and reduce manual effort for common incidents.
  • Maintain strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret metrics prioritize issues and propose solutions that align with business outcomes and user experience goals.

Certifications Required

CompTIA A Plus or Microsoft Certified Endpoint Administrator Associate or equivalent desktop support certification.
