Job Summary
We are seeking a Scientific Informatics Lead to drive biologics research workflows and scientific informatics solutions across discovery and preclinical R&D. This role will partner closely with scientists, laboratory teams, product specialists, and IT stakeholders to translate complex research processes into scalable, reliable platform capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong domain expertise in biologics research and hands-on experience with Genedata Biologics or similar scientific informatics platforms. This position requires leadership across requirements gathering, workflow design, platform enhancements, integrations, testing, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead requirements discovery for biologics experiments, assays, samples, entities, and scientific data management workflows.
· Translate scientific and laboratory processes into user stories, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, and solution designs.
· Provide senior oversight for platform configuration, workflow design, enhancements, testing, deployment readiness, and defect resolution activities.
· Design and optimize workflows supporting biologics discovery, antibody discovery, protein engineering, assay development, screening, and translational research activities.
· Guide integrations between scientific informatics platforms, ELN/LIMS systems, laboratory instruments, registration systems, and downstream data environments.
· Support data lineage, scientific metadata management, sample traceability, and research data governance initiatives.
· Coordinate cross-functional teams including scientists, informatics specialists, validation, infrastructure, security, data management, and vendor stakeholders.
· Oversee SOP development, process documentation, training materials, test evidence, release documentation, and operational procedures.
· Support platform modernization, migration, reporting, data quality, and integration initiatives across research environments.
· Provide technical and functional leadership to ensure scientific platforms effectively support business and research objectives.
Qualifications:
· Strong domain experience in biologics discovery, antibody discovery, protein engineering, assay development, screening, cell biology, or translational research.
· Hands-on experience with Genedata Biologics or comparable biologics-focused ELN, LIMS, or scientific informatics platforms.
· Strong understanding of experiment capture, sample management, entity lineage, assay data, scientific metadata, and research data traceability.
· Experience gathering requirements, configuring workflows, conducting functional testing, supporting defect triage, and managing platform enhancements.
· Proven ability to lead platform initiatives and provide hands-on scientific informatics expertise beyond end-user support.
· Experience with Genedata Screener, Benchling, Dotmatics, IDBS, BIOVIA, or similar scientific research platforms is preferred.
· Familiarity with APIs, SQL, Python, integration frameworks, data migration, and data quality management.
· Experience supporting regulated life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or research environments is highly desirable.
· Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $[132,000 -155,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
