About the role
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Quality Engineer to drive quality assurance initiatives across complex healthcare applications. In this role, you will lead testing efforts, build and enhance automation frameworks, integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate closely with business, development, and stakeholder teams to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions that support critical healthcare processes.

In this role, you will:

· Lead end-to-end quality engineering activities, including test strategy, test planning, execution, defect management, and release validation.

· Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Protractor, Java, TypeScript, Cucumber, TestNG, and JUnit.

· Create and execute automated and manual test cases for functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, API, database, mobile, and cross-browser testing.

· Perform API testing using Postman and SOAP UI, and performance testing using JMeter and NeoLoad.

· Develop and maintain automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Git, Maven, and GitHub Copilot.

· Perform data validation, backend testing, and defect analysis using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.

· Collaborate with product owners, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the SDLC.

· Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and defect triage sessions.

· Identify testing risks, recommend process improvements, and drive automation best practices across teams.

· Support testing efforts for healthcare applications involving prior authorization, utilization management, provider portals, clinical workflows, and continuity of care.

What you need to have to be considered

 10+ years of experience in software quality engineering, including manual testing, automation testing, test planning, defect management, and Agile delivery.

 Strong hands-on experience in test automation framework development using Java, TypeScript, Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Protractor, Cucumber, TestNG, and JUnit.

 Experience performing functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, API, database, mobile, and cross-browser testing.

 Strong experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL for database validation, data integrity testing, and backend analysis.

 Proficiency with API and performance testing tools such as Postman, SOAP UI, JMeter, and NeoLoad.

 Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Git, Maven, and GitHub Copilot.

 Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, and defect management processes.

 Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

 Strong healthcare domain experience, particularly in prior authorization, utilization management, provider portals, clinical workflows, and continuity of care.

· Deep expertise in healthcare payer and provider platforms.

· Experience leading enterprise-scale automation and quality engineering initiatives.

· Advanced proficiency in Java, TypeScript, Oracle SQL, and PL/SQL within complex testing environments.

· Experience implementing automation-first testing strategies and CI/CD quality gates.

· Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.

· Experience leveraging AI-assisted development and testing tools, including GitHub Copilot, to improve productivity and test coverage.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $81,337 to $141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
