About the role

As an SAP Geospatial Manager, you will make an impact by designing, optimizing, and governing secure geospatial solutions within SAP environments.

You will work collaboratively with SAP development, infrastructure, operations, planning, and sustainability teams to transform location-based data into actionable insights that improve operational efficiency and support informed business decisions.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and delivery of enterprise geospatial solutions integrated with SAP HANA.
  • Oversee ABAP development, data modeling, and performance optimization for geospatial applications.
  • Manage spatial data mapping, geocoding, coordinate transformations, proximity analysis, and territory visualization.
  • Define and maintain ABAP authorization controls to protect sensitive geospatial data and support compliance requirements.
  • Administer SAP Fiori applications, catalogs, tiles, and workspaces to provide secure and intuitive user experiences.
  • Monitor application performance, data accuracy, and system stability across SAP HANA and SAP Fiori environments.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable geospatial solutions.
  • Establish reusable ABAP components, technical documentation, testing standards, and governance practices.

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week in Cognizant office in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

What you need to have to be considered

  • 12 or more years of progressive SAP experience, including leadership in complex technical implementations.
  • Advanced experience with ABAP development for SAP HANA, including data modeling, performance optimization, and complex business logic.
  • Strong proficiency in ABAP mapping, spatial data integration, geocoding, and coordinate or boundary data transformation.
  • Solid knowledge of ABAP authorization concepts, including roles, profiles, and granular access controls.
  • Hands-on experience administering SAP Fiori applications, catalogs, tiles, workspaces, and performance.
  • Experience with geospatial or mapping-focused SAP implementations.
  • Strong stakeholder management, documentation, testing, and data-governance capabilities.
  • Availability to work during the standard day shift.

These will help you stand out

  • Experience integrating SAP solutions with GIS platforms or location-based services.
  • Knowledge of SAP reporting, analytics, or enterprise data-management tools.
  • Experience supporting geospatial solutions for logistics, asset management, environmental monitoring, or sustainability.
  • Familiarity with hybrid SAP environments and collaboration with SAP Basis and infrastructure teams.
  • Experience leading global or cross-functional technical teams.
