The Role:

Cognizant is seeking a motivated and innovative MuleSoft Jr. Developer to join our team. This role will focus on building intelligent, scalable contact center solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint platform. The ideal candidate is a collaborative engineer with a passion for cloud-native development, AI integration, and customer experience transformation.

Cognizant is seeking an energetic, curious, and technology‑driven Gen C / college graduates to join our MuleSoft Integration Engineering team. MuleSoft Jr. Developer will be trained and mentored to build modern API‑led connectivity solutions that power digital transformation for global enterprises. Trained associates will be part of a collaborative, high‑performing team that designs, develops, and delivers integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, while also learning how AI‑powered tools, accelerators, and automation enhance API development, testing, monitoring, and integration lifecycle productivity.

Responsibilities:

· Learn and apply API‑led design principles to build integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.

· Develop, test, and deploy APIs, integrations, and microservices under guidance from senior developers and architects.

· Learn to leverage AI‑powered MuleSoft developer tools such as Anypoint Code Builder, which provides intelligent code suggestions, flow generation, RAML generation, DataWeave script creation, and automated error correction.

· Assist in building AI‑augmented integration flows using generative flows, AI‑powered RAML generation, intelligent mapping, SQL generation, and automated documentation. Work with connectors, DataWeave transformations, RAML/OAS API specs.

· Troubleshoot and debug issues during development and deployment cycles.

· Follow best practices, coding standards, and documentation guidelines defined by the practice.

· Collaborate with Agile teams participating in standups, sprint planning, and reviews.

· Continuously upskill through internal bootcamps, training programs, and certification tracks supported by the MuleSoft CoE.

Pre-Requisites / Qualification:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent.

· Strong proficiency in core programming with Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, and other similar languages.

· Good knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML and JMS messaging

· Good grasp of data structures, algorithms, and problem‑solving fundamentals.

· Spring, Maven, and related frameworks and technology!

· Understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and cloud fundamentals

· Understanding of Git, CI/CD, SDLC, and integration patterns.

· Eagerness to learn integration technologies, cloud platforms, APIs, and MuleSoft ecosystem.

· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Exposure to integration, API, MuleSoft, or microservices concepts through coursework, projects, or internships.

· Familiarity with DevOps concepts, Git, CI/CD pipelines, or monitoring tools.

· Interest in AI‑assisted development, automation tools, or using AI to improve software productivity.

· Passion for building scalable, reusable, and high‑quality software components.

Start Date

New hires will start in June 2026 in our Cognizant Missoula, MT office. While we will attempt to honor candidate start date preferences, business need and position availability will determine final start date assignment. Exact start date will be communicated with enough time for you to plan effectively.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is $65,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
