About the role
As an Automation Engineer (PLC / SCADA / DeltaV Systems), you will make an impact by designing, configuring, and supporting critical industrial control systems that drive reliable and efficient manufacturing operations. You will be a valued member of the engineering team, working closely with operations, maintenance, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure optimal system performance and compliance.
In this role, you will:
- Design, configure, and maintain PLC, SCADA, and DeltaV systems to support plant operations
- Troubleshoot, upgrade, and optimize existing control systems to ensure reliability and performance
- Monitor system performance and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency
- Support integrations across control systems, data historians, and MES platforms
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, while maintaining proper documentation and change control processes

This role requires working in a rotational shift schedule to support continuous operations.

What you need to have to be considered:
- Experience working with PLC, SCADA, and DeltaV or similar distributed control systems
- Strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience in industrial automation systems
- Knowledge of control system integrations, including MES and data historian platforms
- Experience managing change control, technical documentation, and system updates
- Understanding of regulatory compliance related to safety, environmental, and quality standards
These will help you stand out:
- Experience in process manufacturing or regulated industries
- Exposure to project coordination or project management activities
- Familiarity with automation best practices, standards, and lifecycle management
- Ability to provide technical support and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience creating and maintaining knowledge bases and troubleshooting documentation

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until July 4, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $68,000 - $109,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
