Role Overview:
Cognizant is seeking a skilled and proactive Business Analyst to support a Healthcare client engagement. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in bridging business needs and technology solutions by collaborating with diverse stakeholders, understanding healthcare workflows, and delivering high-quality requirement artifacts in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with business stakeholders and technical teams to elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions to capture current and future state processes
- Translate business needs into functional specifications, process flows, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Perform data analysis and profiling using SQL to validate requirements, ensure data quality, and support decision-making
- Work closely with Product Owners, developers, and QA teams to refine backlog and ensure requirements clarity
- Maintain documentation and knowledge repositories using Confluence
- Manage and track user stories, defects, and sprint progress in JIRA
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives)
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios, coordinating with business users, and validating results
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards, privacy, and regulatory requirements (where applicable)
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in Healthcare or Life Sciences domain
- Strong experience in stakeholder management and requirement gathering
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, analysis, and profiling
- Hands-on experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work in a client-facing, fast-paced delivery environment
