About the role
As a Principal Infrastructure Developer, you will make an impact by designing and enhancing enterprise-scale solutions on the ServiceNow platform, with a focus on Business Management, Automation Engine, Agentic AI, and Experience Design. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and work collaboratively with product managers, architects, and infrastructure stakeholders to deliver scalable automation and intuitive user experiences that drive business value.
In this role, you will:
Design and implement ServiceNow Business Management solutions that enable effective planning, execution, and reporting across global infrastructure initiatives.
Develop and optimize automation workflows using ServiceNow Automation Engine to improve operational efficiency and service reliability.
Configure and enhance Agentic AI capabilities for intelligent incident management, recommendations, and proactive issue resolution.
Create user-centric experiences and workflows that simplify complex infrastructure processes and improve adoption across stakeholders.
Collaborate across teams to translate product lifecycle management requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions that ensure end-to-end visibility and traceability.

What you need to have to be considered
6–10 years of experience in enterprise-scale ServiceNow implementations within complex environments
Strong hands-on expertise in ServiceNow Business Management modules (demand, project, resource management)
Proven experience with ServiceNow Automation Engine, including workflow design, orchestration, and integrations
Good experience in ITSM modules, including Incident, Problem, Change Management, Flow Designer, and Service Catalog Management
Experience configuring AI-driven capabilities within ServiceNow (e.g., incident triage, request handling, recommendations)
Solid understanding of product lifecycle management processes across infrastructure or platform services
Experience with ServiceNow scripting:
Client-side (Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions)
Server-side (Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions)
These will help you stand out
Good understanding of Service Portal and basic knowledge of Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM)
Experience designing user-centric ServiceNow experiences with strong focus on usability and adoption
Knowledge of infrastructure operations, observability, and automation in hybrid environments
Experience with performance tuning, integrations, and scalable data models within ServiceNow
Strong communication and facilitation skills, with experience working across technical and business stakeholders

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $114K - $128K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
