SAP Functional Consultant – MM/PTP/PP/WM/QM

About Cognizant
Cognizant is seeking an experienced SAP Functional Consultant to support global SAP project execution activities across Materials Management, Procure-to-Pay, Production Planning, Warehouse Management, and Quality Management processes. The successful candidate will support projects throughout the entire lifecycle, working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, architects, and external vendors to deliver high-quality SAP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver functional SAP project execution activities within project assignments to ensure consistent, harmonized, and optimal delivery within the Project Management Framework (PMF).
- Support project activities throughout the entire lifecycle, including design, IT testing, UAT, implementation, cutover execution, and hypercare support.
- Effectively manage relationships with internal business partners and project stakeholders.
- Work with internal and external vendor teams to deliver Change Requests within established SLAs.
- Collaborate with other SAP Functional Leads to deliver a seamless global project execution model.
- Partner with the Architecture team to design solutions that meet business requirements and deliver projects based on functional specifications.
- Collaborate with the ETO application team and follow their guidance on project delivery.
- Coordinate development activities and monitor progress with development teams.
- Support Root Cause Analysis activities for project delivery issues.
- Translate business requirements into clearly defined tasks and deliverables.
- Provide excellent customer service and stakeholder support.
- Communicate effectively with executives, managers, subject matter experts, and project stakeholders.
- Work creatively and analytically in complex problem-solving environments.
- Collaborate effectively with global and cross-functional teams.
MM / PTP Responsibilities
- Configure and support Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), Requests for Quotation (RFQ), and outline agreements.
- Configure purchasing organizations, purchasing groups, and plant-level procurement parameters.
- Configure source determination, vendor evaluation, and quota arrangements.
- Support automatic PO creation, release strategies, and approval workflows.
- Configure invoice verification (LIV), GR/IR clearing, and tolerance limits.
- Configure evaluated receipt settlement (ERS) and consignment processes.
- Configure goods receipts, goods issues, stock transfers, and transfer postings.
- Configure inventory management parameters, movement types, storage locations, and plant settings.
- Support special stock scenarios including consignment, subcontracting, pipeline stock, project stock, and sales order stock.
- Support physical inventory activities including cycle counting, annual inventory, and inventory differences.
- Configure batch management and shelf-life expiration processes.
- Configure material master data across procurement, storage, MRP, accounting, and costing views.
- Configure vendor master data in alignment with FI/AP teams.
- Configure purchasing info records, source lists, and pricing procedures.
- Configure material valuation and account determination (OBYC).
- Support split valuation processes.
WM Responsibilities
- Design and configure warehouse structures including warehouse numbers, storage types, storage sections, and storage bins.
- Configure putaway and picking strategies.
- Configure transfer order creation, confirmation, and cancellation processes.
- Configure warehouse movement types and integration with Inventory Management.
- Support warehouse goods receipts and goods issue processes.
- Configure replenishment, stock transfer, and bin-to-bin transfer processes.
- Support posting changes and stock reclassification activities.
- Configure two-step picking and packing processes.
PP / QM Responsibilities
- Configure and support PP master data including Material Master, Bills of Material (BOM), Work Centers, Routings, and Production Versions.
- Configure and support Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
- Configure production order management processes including creation, release, goods issue, confirmations, and goods receipt.
- Support capacity planning, scheduling, and work center evaluation.
- Configure subcontracting, co-products, by-products, and repetitive manufacturing processes where applicable.
- Configure inspection types, inspection plans, sampling procedures, inspection characteristics, and inspection methods.
- Configure quality notifications, defect recording, and CAPA processes.
- Configure results recording, usage decisions, and quality certificates.
- Support batch management and batch classification processes aligned with QM requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting SAP MM, PTP, WM, PP, and/or QM processes.
- Experience supporting SAP projects across the full project lifecycle.
- SAP ECC6 and/or SAP S/4HANA implementation experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with global and cross-functional teams.
- Agile project experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with regulatory compliance requirements including GxP and ISO.
- Experience supporting global or cross-functional teams.
