About the role
As a Senior Test Lead – Financial Transaction Testing, you will make an impact by leading quality assurance initiatives for critical financial systems and business applications. You will serve as the primary point of contact for testing activities, driving collaboration across business, development, and partner teams to ensure successful project delivery and high-quality outcomes.
You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and leadership to plan, execute, and govern testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
In this role, you will:
Lead end-to-end testing activities, including test strategy, planning, execution, defect management, and quality governance.
Serve as the primary liaison between testing teams, business stakeholders, development teams, and partner organizations to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to Test Analysts and Quality Engineers while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Perform hands-on functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing while ensuring effective management of test environments and test data.
Communicate project status, risks, issues, quality metrics, and testing outcomes to leadership through dashboards, reports, and stakeholder presentations.

What you need to have to be considered
8–12 years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance, or Quality Engineering, including prior experience in a Test Lead role.
Strong hands-on experience with test planning, test execution, defect management, and quality reporting.
Expertise using testing and defect management tools such as Jira, HP ALM, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and software testing methodologies across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models.
Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and external partner organizations in a matrixed environment.
Proven stakeholder management, communication, and escalation management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand business processes, workflows, and key performance metrics.
Experience mentoring, coaching, and leading teams of Test Analysts and Quality Engineers.
Strong knowledge of financial transaction workflows and financial system testing.

Experience with UAT coordination and business stakeholder engagement.
Exposure to test automation and quality engineering practices.
Experience creating executive-level dashboards and quality metrics reporting.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 to $112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
