About the role
As a Consulting Manager - AI Delivery & Platform Engineering, you will make an impact by helping clients modernize software delivery through scalable CI/CD, platform engineering, cloud-native infrastructure, and AI-enabled development capabilities. You will be a valued member of the Cognizant Consulting team and work collaboratively with client stakeholders, software engineering teams, platform teams, and AI engineering practitioners to improve delivery velocity, reliability, and operational excellence.
In this role, you will:
- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins.
- Support cloud-native software delivery initiatives including Kubernetes deployment automation, GitOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, observability frameworks, and release management processes.
- Partner with client and internal engineering teams to assess delivery maturity, identify improvement opportunities, and implement platform engineering best practices.
- Enable AI-powered software delivery capabilities, including LLM evaluation workflows, AI-assisted development processes, model deployment automation, and governance controls.
- Develop reusable accelerators, templates, playbooks, reference architectures, and engineering standards that improve consistency and efficiency across consulting engagements.
Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this position requires 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Chicago, Illinois. What you must have to be considered
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related disciplines, including experience supporting production CI/CD environments.
- Strong hands-on expertise with GitHub Actions and experience with one or more enterprise CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, CircleCI, Buildkite, or Jenkins.
- Experience working with Kubernetes, GitOps solutions such as ArgoCD or Flux, Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi, and cloud-native deployment practices.
- Experience implementing observability solutions including OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, metrics collection, logging, and software delivery performance measurement.
- Experience supporting AI-enabled applications, LLM workflows, AI development tooling, or agent-based systems in enterprise environments.
These will help you succeed
- Experience developing automation solutions and engineering tooling using Python and API integrations.
- Familiarity with progressive delivery solutions such as Argo Rollouts, Flagger, LaunchDarkly, or similar platforms.
- Exposure to AI evaluation, testing, and governance frameworks such as Promptfoo, DeepEval, Ragas, LangSmith, Braintrust, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience developing reusable developer platforms, engineering accelerators, standards, and enablement assets.
- Consulting, advisory, or client-facing experience supporting enterprise technology transformation initiatives.

Compensation
$81,450 - $146,250 per year
