About the role
As an MRO Subject Matter Expert, you will make an impact by connecting airline maintenance, repair and overhaul operations with a complex enterprise technology assessment. You will serve as the primary domain advisor for a major North American airline, ensuring recommendations reflect real-world Technical Operations processes, regulatory obligations, and business-continuity needs. You will work collaboratively with client stakeholders and Cognizant’s consulting and technical teams.
In this role, you will:
- Lead functional discovery workshops spanning maintenance execution, materials management, maintenance planning and optimization, and procurement.
- Map current-state processes across SCEPTRE modules, identifying operational pain points, manual workarounds, shadow technology, and critical dependencies.
- Assess operational impact, replacement risk and business-continuity requirements, and contribute functional insights to the SCEPTRE Dependency Index.
- Evaluate practical artificial intelligence and machine learning opportunities in Technical Operations, including aircraft-on-ground prediction, demand forecasting, predictive maintenance scheduling, and automated task-card generation.
- Act as the primary liaison between the client’s Technical Operations stakeholders and Cognizant’s technical team, reviewing solution blueprints and decoupling recommendations from an MRO operations perspective.

- Experience with at least one commercial MRO platform, such as TRAX, AIMS, Ramco Aviation, AMASIS, AMOS or an equivalent platform, plus familiarity with integrations to ERP/SAP, flight operations and finance systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical or aerospace engineering, aviation management, or a related technical field, with the ability to serve as a single point of contact across Maintenance Control, Engineering, Planning, Stores, and Quality or Compliance functions.
will help you succeed
- Experience working in a SCEPTRE environment or with IBM mainframe-based MRO solutions.
